Oh Bother...

Short update this morning. I got a call from my employer this morning and I've been laid off. The projects that were on the books prior to Ann's relapse have all been shelved with the deterioration in oil prices. Not sure what this will mean to our future yet, but I've already started looking on Monster.com.

I think we are done with the south for good. Time to look to the west or east coast.

Sorry this had to be bad news.

Go west, young man, go west!

I hope this bad news turns into a great opportunity for you and Ann.

I know this is terrible news. However, you've lived and even prospered through worse. It may be the gateway to much better things for you both! We're pulling for ya!

Come west- the wild wild west also has some great cancer treatment spots too, Sorry for the news, I know it is always tough when it is not your decision to leave.
The good thing is you will get through this next hurdle together as a team!

Come East! No earthquakes here, and the hurricanes are mere watered-down versions of what you're used to. The people just talk funny.

We are sad to see you leave the South! But as long as Ann is healthy, you two will do wonderful wherever you land.

I think we have a bi-coastal bidding war for you. Remember: banh mi, pho . . .

Okay.. of course, I'm voting for you to "GO WEST!" I know you are bummed about the job situation, but I really believe that there's something bigger and better on the horizon (the west horizon, that is).

You have been through worse times. You'll come out of this little hiccup", too!

You should enter a posting on this blog about your major and emphasis.... your blogsite has many readers and who knows... a job might come from one of your readers.

Love you both. Take care, love n

Let us know if there's anything we can do. You are welcomed to stay at our place if you have interviews in the SF Bay Area! On a side note, I had a great dream about you and Ann. I was at Ann's clinic appointment where she was getting her catheter removed and getting ready to go home. Her hair was full and Pantene perfect. Chris had painted an colorful artsy interpretation of the periodic table to donate to the clinic. Hahahah It was the first good dream I've had in a long time. I think it's a good sign! :D

Do you guys really think that it would be worth my time to post my experience / resume here?

Nancy said...

Do it! Do it! Do it! Or just post a link to your resume. Those who can, will try to circulate it. It certainly can't hurt, right? : ) n

I saw a news report about a woman who screen printed her resume on a shirt and was walking around the city (wherever she lived) and talking to people in hopes someone would be interested - so posting it on a blog can't hurt! :)

Laid off sucks. Bigtime. But maybe there's a new better opportunity just around the corner.
